Purnima is the most auspicious day of this month. It is on this day that Holi is celebrated. Phalguna is also considered the month of Lord Shiva.
Maha Shivratri is observed this month. Hindus also worship Moon on the day of Phalguna Purnima as they believe that the Moon’s birth occurred on this day.
Krishna Puja and Lakshmi Puja are also performed during this month. Krishna Rasleela begins on Purnima day and continues till Rang Panchami.
The ritual of Holika Dahan is observed on this day. In addition, Hindus observe a day-long fast during the Vasanta Purnima.
In the South Indian States of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh, and Telangana, Phalguna Purnima is observed as Kama Dahanam.
