Vaishakh Purnima is a significant and auspicious day in the Hindu and Buddhist calendars. It falls on the full moon day (Purnima) in the month of Vaishakh. Here's a detailed look into its importance, rituals, and celebrations.

Vaishakh Purnima is believed to be one of the most spiritually potent full moon days.

It marks the culmination of the Vaishakh month, which is considered highly auspicious for charity, bathing in holy rivers, and performing satyanarayana vrat.

Devotees also worship Lord Vishnu, especially in the form of Satyanarayana, and read the Satyanarayana Katha.

Taking a holy dip in the Ganga or other sacred rivers is believed to purify sins and bring blessings.

Vaishakh Purnima is even more prominent in Buddhism, as it is celebrated as Buddha Purnima (or Vesak)—the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana (death) day of Lord Gautama Buddha.
