Purnima Program

Purnima, or the full moon day, holds immense spiritual and religious significance in Hinduism. It is considered one of the most auspicious days of the lunar cycle, symbolizing completeness, prosperity, and divine blessings. On every Purnima, devotees observe the Satyanarayan Vrat, a sacred fast dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is revered as the preserver of the universe. To seek the blessings of Lord Vishnu and bring peace, prosperity, and harmony into their lives, devotees perform the Satyanarayan Puja on this day. The ritual involves reciting the Satyanarayan Katha, offering prayers, and distributing prasad among family and friends. It is believed that observing this vrat with devotion helps remove obstacles, fulfills wishes, and ensures overall well-being. The Satyanarayan Vrat observed during the month of Vaishakha is especially important and is known as Vaishakha Purnima Vrat. This day is also associated with heightened spiritual energy, making it ideal for meditation, charity, and acts of kindness. Devotees often engage in donations, feeding the poor, and visiting temples to enhance the spiritual merit of the day. The full moon (Purnima) is considered particularly dear to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, and worshipping him on this day is believed to bring divine grace and long-lasting happiness. According to the Drik Panchang, Satyanarayan Vrat in the month of Vaishakha will be observed on May 1, 2026, which falls on the Purnima Tithi of the Shukla Paksha.
